Emil Frey Ferrari driver Jack Aitken has taken a commanding victory within the DTM’s first Nurburgring race to develop into the 2025 championship’s new chief.

Aitken transformed pole into the lead firstly of the race, as an incident between Rene Rast and Mirko Bortolotti induced the latter’s retirement, whereas the previous needed to change his entrance tyres. Chaos ensued within the following corners with Maro Engel and Thierry Vermeulen colliding; the Dutchman was spun round and dropped to the again of the sector, and Engel obtained three penalty laps.

One other incident concerned Morris Schuring and his team-mate Ayhancan Guven on lap 2, with Guven spinning out of the race – which was red-flagged because of particles, in addition to coolant from Bortolotti’s automotive.
